Girl And The Goat

Girl And The Goat Decor

What do you feel when you hear the name of a restaurant as ‘Girl And The Goat’? Intrigued, excited, confused or meh?

If your answer is any of the last two expressions, then I will say – Just like, never judge a book by its cover, same way don’t get biased by a restaurant’s name.

But if you were intrigued or excited, then I can totally understand! Because that is what I felt when I heard about this Chicago restaurant. Its executive chef Stephanie Izard is a winner of Bravo’s Top Chef and she has some amazing goat dishes here! I guess that’s why the name.

Located in West Loop of Chicago, it is one of the most popular and busy restaurants. Getting a reservation is not easy and should be done well ahead in advance. Even though they welcome walk-ins, I will recommend to call and check for reservations (Open Table may not have all the available slots listed). That way you don’t end up waiting or eating very early or late.

Ambience

It has a cozy and stylish decor. Most of the interior is wood based and that gives it a cabin kind of feel. It is modern and comfortable, with different types of seatings. It does get full but does not feel overcrowded. And you can never miss the wall picture of the girl and the goat!

Ready To Eat

Menu

I loved it’s menu style. The classification of the main ingredients makes it very easy for people to choose what they want to eat and it has something for everyone. You won’t be disappointed!

Even the menu itself is interesting. There are so many options that it will make you come back to this restaurant. Most importantly the flavors combinations will surely make you happy.

They also have a full bar with wines, beer and range of cocktails. And of course, a small yet unique dessert menu as well.

Food

We had one item from the V (vegetarian), F (fish), M (meat) and G (goat) sections. The portion size was just right for us.

Each one of the dishes were good especially the goat. It was so tender and soft, cooked perfectly in a delicious butter sauce.

From the sweet section we had chocolate pavlova says-a-me! This had caramel chocolate sauce and black sesame ice cream. Super yum!

We loved eating here and had a great time. The service, ambience, food, everything was as good as its other reviews said! If you are ever in Chicago do visit this place and share your thoughts down below!
